Unified Pension
Is a single pension granted to those who, during their working life, have worked both in the private (private workers general pension scheme - Social Security) and public sectors (civil servants special pension scheme - CGA).
An «ideal pension» is calculated on the basis of the whole career (private + public sector). The calculation is made according to the last scheme rules. Where the amount of the «ideal pension» is higher than the sum of the two statutory pensions (calculated with each schemes calculation rules), the unified pension amounts to the sum of the separated pensions plus half of the difference between the «ideal pension» and the sum of both separated pensions. This «bonus» is covered by the first scheme. Where the amount of the unified «ideal pension» is lower than the sum of the two statutory pensions, the unified pension amounts to the sum of the two separated pensions calculated according to each schemes regulation.
The scheme, which pays the unified pension, gets from the other scheme a financial compensation (paid monthly).
